Bio
After several years working separately in multiple projects as professional performers, founding members Andrew Kelsey (guitar, vocals) and Greg Markles (drums, vocals) re-connected at a college reunion improv show. Andrew asked Greg to sit in on a show and the chemistry was instant.
Uncle Charlie’s unique yet familiar sound grew out of a commitment to the bands mantra “no standard fair”. After several stages of experimentation and various lines ups, with the addition of Kahlil Sabbagh (bass, vocals), Uncle Charlie galvanized it’s identity as a three piece, harmonizing, party friendly show.
With the completion of it’s 2009 self titled EP, Uncle Charlie is touring several cities throughout the west coast and looking forward to touring the Midwest and east coast later this year. At which time, Uncle Charlie will be releasing its first full-length studio album at the beginning of 2010.
Having an extremely loyal and ever growing fan base, Uncle Charlie is an experience not to be missed. The band loves performing and watching their music create good times and smiling faces. In response to the trio’s growing popularity throughout Los Angeles, Uncle Charlie is in the midst of producing a self-titled debut album, scheduled for release in fall of 2009.
