C.A.C. History
It all started in the fall of 2002 when I got my first computer (I'm using now, to type this info). I always love to go to Anipike if any of
you are not familiar to Anipike is a anime web directory for anime fans who love to make anime websites. Anyways, I knew about Anipike when I was
in highschool back in 1996. (Long time eh? I know I'm old people but, not too old to love anime in this age. It actually keeps me young and when I watch anime. Cause' it make me feel like a kid sometimes.) BTW Anyways, to get to my point. The time I got my comp. I was so anxious to find
a good desktop wallpaper for my computer. I couldn't find anything that had cool wallpapers. So then again I discover animewallpapers.com that site got me so impress that I made my brother to download all the wallpapers they had in there site. I kinda fill up my computer
space like a bunch but, I manage to put a cool wall on my computer.
Then I got so influence by animewallpapers.com I decided to make my own websites by using there wallpapers. I read their terms and condition. I felt that I was stealing their wallpapers and ask myself "why not make an anime wallpaper site?" "why not make my own graphics". I first downloaded a crappy
image program that made my head hurt alot. It was too dumb and to make a wallpaper took me like 4 hours to make cause' I had to delete the background of the image and fill in with a background they program had. I stumble upon to this site called Abstract Anime. That site
impress too much. I love the wallpapers they provide. I read there F.A.Q. of how they made the wallpapers. And they use very expensive programs. The program that caught my eye was Photoshop. I swear to myself to save enough money to buy it. And guess what? I did bought the sucker.
At first, it was hard to make a wallpaper. But, later on, I started to get good at it. My website designs skill improve each time. I made my layouts on photoshop, and everyone love it. If you would of seen how my site use to look like before. You'll would of laugh. It was horrible. I use "cool pages" is a website builder for beginners. It was horrible a slow program to use.
It took a long time to put my site together on that program. I sometimes, use to crack of how other websites had the scroll match with their layouts. And I decide to get help on this site called daydreamgraphics.com that site help me alot. They teach me how to put css on my site. But, I didn't know you can actually make a css file until I read this tutorial Angelic Network
made. She provided a good CSS tutorial and I felt in love with it. I started to make my site with CSS on it. It made things easier for me to change my layouts easier.
In about that time I didn't rely on that page builder anymore. I took my time learning about html and how to improve my site better. Finding a host was difficult.
My first host was tripod. I was so clueless about how to upload files, how not to waste bandwith and how not to use other directories like storing files on their server. I broke their terms of condition on covering their banner and tripod banned me for good. I was newbie back then can you blame me? I decided to find another host.
Then my second host was fortunecities. It was a good host but, the banner thing I wasn't to fond of it. So I decided to give geocities a try. It was much better. I love the no ad banner approach. So, C.A.C. was happy on geocities. Until Chris. My last host. He ask me
if I wanted to be hosted. So, I said okay. He was the one who intruduced me to FTP program. He told me to download it. So, I did. And I manage to figure it out myself of how to upload my files to his server. It made things easier for me to update my site. I think I stay with Chris like about 9 months or so until it got shut down. I got hosted by Otaku-Universe but, they had to many problems.
Then queenbrat.com was hosting me now. IS LEIKO!!!! from soundless-words.com is my host!! THANKIES!!
Therefore, maintaining a site is not easy for one person run it. And learning html is not easy either. I had to figure out all by myself, and all those hours I spend online, was worth it. Maybe someday, I could use all this knowlegde to have my business.
So, I guess this is the whole story of how C.A.C. So, I hope you love this little story and if you have any comments. You can freely leave a message.
