American Animation vs. Anime
This is just my opinion. I created this poll:
Which animation do you prefer? American Animation or Anime most of you pick Japanese Animation (Anime). It was
too obvious Japanese Animation was gonna be pick the most. If correct me if I'm wrong , this is an anime site.
Why Anime? Well. Anime is too realistic, it has cute characters, all the guys look hot and it makes you fantasized to be that type of character. It's different, the animation is very life like, and appealing to viewers.
This anime, comes to mind, is Ranma 1/2. It's very different, the story is funny and it makes you wonder if Ranma ever gonna be a normal guy. Ranma appeals to me because the characters
are too real to me and they all have very unique story of how they became who they are. This is a perfect example why anime is very interesting and it makes viewers want to know about the story and characters.
(Getting back to my article.) Most people who don't know about anime. Are usually amazed, when the first time they watched it or mention. I remember when I was in high school
someone brought a video, that was not suitable to younger viewers. All of my classmates were shocked of the content of the video was showing. Some of them were very fond of it. The people who were fond of it, were the guys in my school. Now, that I'm thinking about it, I really don't remember who brought it.
Right now I'm mention the most disgrace material that gives anime a bad name. Yes, "HENTAI" probably your asking yourself "what is that?". Well, I'm not gonna try to change this article and explain it to you but, I could tell you what it means. It means "Pervert" in japanese. Now BTW....
Now of days, you can find anime everywhere. In retail stores, wholesales places and even online. Back then VHS was very limited. If you have a friend
who rented anime videos and you tell them to make you a copy. You instantly have your own anime video. It was very common to do that. And the bad side. The bootleg videos your friend would make you was pretty crappy. But, back then no one care. As long as you watch your favorite anime on T.V.
It was common among friends to swap videos and try to watch as many episodes as possible.
It was hard buying your own anime collection. Because the prices of VHS videos were very expensive. It wasn't too common to see VHS episodes ranging to 25.00 u.s. dollars to 30.00 on anime magazines. Now, you can buy an anime DVD for 15.00 dollars. And you can build your collection much easier.
(Who would of thought Dragon Ball Z hit big in U.S. and also, not mentioning Sailor Moon.)
In other words American Animation get so influence by Japanese Animation. It's true. A good example is
Disney. You can tell in the beginning the animation was very simple and retro looking. Once, Anime hit the big markets in the U.S. Disney started to improved there animation skills. I've notice the way each character are drawn and the expression of a Disney character is feeling. It take aspects of
anime alot.
Which one is best?
To determine that question I will have to say both. Why both? because I'm a big fan of Disney and other WB cartoons too. But, is not the animation. Is the content of the story that gets
me to love both of them. I know there's tons American Animation that truly aren't good. Some of the are really good. For example: Samurai Jack. That's a good
cartoon. What's appealing to me is "Jack" is a Samurai and he goes to this cool adventures to be a cool super hero.
To get to my conclusion. It doesn't matter what type of animation you watch. If you think it's good. Go watch it. But, if you think it's bad. Don't watch it.
Overall, anime would be on top and it will be for a long time.
